American Rocketry Challenge (ARC)
Some Basic Documentation:
Safety: All rockets must be built and flown in accordance with the Model Rocket Safety Code of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), any applicable local fire regulations, and Federal Aviation Regulations (2.1).
Teams: The Application for a team must come from a single school or a single U.S. incorporated
Teams: The application for a team must come from a single school or a single U.S. incorporated non-profit youth or educational organization (2.2).
Rocket Requirements: Rockets must not exceed 650 grams gross weight at liftoff. The overall length of the rocket must be no less than 650 millimeters (25.6 inches). Rockets must be powered by "F" class rocket motors or lower (2.3).
Payload: Rockets must contain and completely enclose two raw hen's eggs of 57 to 63 grams mass and a length of up to 60 millimeters (2.4).
Duration Scoring: The flight duration goal is a range of 41-44 seconds (2.5).
Altitude Scoring: The altitude performance goal for qualification flights is 790 feet or 241 meters. For the finals, it will be between 765 and 815 feet, and will be decided by a coin toss (2.6).
